Field trips outside the studio have fast become an important part of our After School Workshop, and this fall, we’re visiting the neighboring artists who make up our vibrant Harrison Street Arts District. Lots of these talented artists have been very generous with their time, showing the children their talents and processes.
This week, the After Schoolers visited Terry Mueller from Creative Changes, a studio located at 140 Harrison Street. As a certified Health Coach and licensed Massage Therapist, Terry is committed to helping people achieve an overall sense of wellness that also includes healthy creativity. Our students got to experience Process Painting, one of Terry’s specialties.
According to Terry, Process Painting is a way in which we can teach ourselves to get past the censorship we hold in our own minds, and create in a free and honest way. Process Painting is a fun and effective way for both children and adults to learn to express themselves without limitation. And our After Schoolers had a blast! Thank you, Terry!
