Representation and Abstraction

May 4, 2018 • After School Workshop

How often to you look at objects you see every day and see them differently? Do you reinterpret familiar objects? This week the kids in our After School Workshop did just that.

The kids set up their toys on the table and took a new look at what they were seeing. Doing so, they were able to break them down into shapes and colors.

In the ceramics studio the kids made representations of their toys in a different medium- clay. Some worked in three dimensional sculpture, while others layered and textured flat pieces of clay into abstractions.
