Circular Fun

November 11, 2014 • Passport To Preschool

While it has been argued in the past that it’s hip to be square, after last week we can confirm that its definitely superior to be circular. We sought out circles and found them all around us, in the form of a drop of water under a magnifying glass, in the shape of a bottle cap and on our bodies!   Later after our Language Art Centers we looked for them in the alphabet and while counting days of the week we found them in numbers!

We drew perfect circles with string and a pushpin, and then turned those circles into our favorite circular things: suns, moons, flowers…

Studying circles gave us the perfect opportunity to hula hoop (as if we needed one) but the best part of the week was rolling our toy cars through wet paint to create our own circuit… messy and fun!
