Bear Necessities

December 17, 2014 • Passport To Preschool

Last week we looked at the letter B and the number 9. The letter B is a favorite as it is essential in spelling the word BEAR. For some reason, some of the best books are about bears and last week we read lots of them; Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Bear Snores on and Bear Wants More, not to forget Bears Loose Tooth. Bears are topical as well as they are wise enough to hibernate in the winter, and so last week we made our very own bears and gave them comfy caves to hibernate in:

Bears are everywhere! We counted how many there were in the studio, and did the teddy bear dance. We drew our own big bear that welcomed us into the studio each day and made collages of woodland scenes where the bears might ramble.

If we were bears, how might we hibernate? At Magical Minds, we hibernate in pyjamas, read good books and drink cocoa – we strongly recommend it!

Finally, we didn’t forget about the number 9, despite how distracting the bears were, and we had lots of fun with it, too –  we counted bottles and bowled them over and got tricky counting with tweezers.
