At Magical Minds Studio, we don’t expect the preschoolers to sit quietly all morning, so we started incorporating some very simple “yoga” exercises into the program.
But this is not your typical yoga practice; we had the little ones do a “Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes” activity. Though it’s not nearly as disciplined as serious yoga, the kids benefited from active postures, and learning about and listening to their bodies. Also, like in yoga, the preschoolers were able to use movement to release their inner energy –aka, get their wiggles out!
