Under the Sea at the Studio

February 4, 2015 • After School Workshop

We began last week talking about all things under the sea, but things quickly became focused on all things narwhal-ian.

Some initial drawing, painting and sculpting soon gave way to an ambitious team project. No doubt at least partly due to its unicorn horn, and the fact of it swimming in the ocean, causing a commotion etc, it seems the narwhal beats the octopus and shark hands down in terms of thrilling sea creatures. Which is why we spent last week working as a team, creating a massive paper mache one which we painted a glorious blue:

We didn’t just celebrate narwhals last week, we continued to celebrate drawing in all forms:

And you can see last weeks selection in the studio:

Thank you to artists Bella, Genevieve, Jacob and Ivy!

Thank you also for all your suggestions for both our whale (Andy Narwhal?) and our kiln (Clayton?) – we will let you know the judges final decision soon!
