Columbus Day at Magical Minds

October 11, 2016 • After School Workshop

Throughout the school year, Magical Minds is offering activities and projects on certain days when the District 97 schools are closed. Our first was Columbus Day, and it didn’t disappoint.

Of course, the best laid plans of mice and me often go awry. So when we arrived at Longfellow Park to play kickball, it was no surprise that interest turned the morning into fort-building, playground-climbing and Pokemon-playing. After a few hours there, we were all worn out and needed to return to the Studio to revive ourselves with something to eat. The snack break did the trick, and in no time at all, some of the group was back to playing Pokemon and some were building a car out of cardboard.

For lunch we made our own pizza bagels, and finished the afternoon watching a movie and eating popcorn. We lucked out with the sunny weather, and look forward to so many more fun days off school.
