Our Five Senses

September 9, 2016 • Passport To Preschool

This week our preschoolers explored their 5 senses describing the things that they saw, touched, smelled, heard and tasted.

Ms Patty created a ‘Mystery Bag’ full of different items. She asked the kids to reach in and describe the textures that they felt. Were they big or small? Smooth of rough? Round or pointy? Hard or squishy?

For the sense of taste they talked about foods that are bitter, sweet, salty or sour. Then everyone found images of some of those foods in magazines and made pictures with them.

The sense of smell was a fun one to experiment with. The best smells of the morning were the vanilla and the cinnamon!
