Working our way through our senses, this week we learned about taste! Sweet, sour, bitter and salty were the flavors that we found all around us.
I’d say the favorite flavor for most of the room was sweet, but we tried what was all around us. We even used our snack time to think about what types of flavors we could taste!
We read the book, Yum! A Book About Taste, by Dana Meachen Rau, which is full of cool facts about taste. For example, that different parts of your tongue are more sensitive to particular flavors, or that your taste buds send messages about the flavors you’re eating to your brain, and your brain can remember tastes that you’ve had before.
