One of the ways kids interpret what they see in the world around them is through drawing, so this week we went back to the start of drawing!
The class read The First Drawing, by Mordicai Gerstein, to learn about cave drawing, and then went into the backyard to see what they could find in nature. Back in the Studio, they created their own cave drawings with charcoal!
And keeping the prehistoric theme, the class created casts of “fossils”, using some of the toys in the Studio, like plants and dinosaurs. When the weather warmed up, the class went outside and set up a cool blue cave to live in!
