One of the questions that cropped up from learning about the food we eat was, where does the food come from? So this week Passport 2 Preschool learned about plants and how they grow!
Ms Haj read the book, Creepy Carrots, written by Aaron Reynolds and illustrated by Peter Brown, as they talked about how plants grow up from the ground. And then the class made their own Creepy Carrots and Jasper Rabbits! Even though we don’t have carrots growing in our backyard, the group found other plants growing there just in time because the following day we had snow!
One of the funnest activities of the week was when everyone reenacted photosynthesis! Some people were the seeds that grew into plants, some were the sun, some were the wind and rain, and some were the pollen. It was a lot of fun but taking a walk to Village Hall proved to be a great field trip. Not only did we get fire hats from the head fire inspector, we found signs of Spring. It was a great week indeed.
